JUST ONE JUMP SHORT

A visit at the Wildlife Refuge this morning and found a pair of Green Herons working a small pond. Unfortunately this Frog found himself being "Just one jump short of having a good day!"
As a public service for those that have never eaten frog at a fine restaurant, I'm including (2nd photo) the proper etiquette on consuming the little amphibians. Simply lay them on your tongue... on their back, head first and let em slide down!

Cool sequence (except from the frog's point of view). Really nice action shots.

Craig,

Very neat behavior to have seen and photographed. I like the pose of the heron and the frog in the bill. I might selectively lighten the heron in the original image, it seems just a little bit dark to me and that might also enhance the colors some. A little more room on the bottom might strengthen the comp too. I wish I had spent more time photographing this species in Florida, I don't get to see them here.

Now, Craig, there are plenty of places around the greater Vancouver Portland metropolitan area to get body piercings; you just found another... Nice "in the life" shot. I really feel the pain of the frog.

Hi Craig,
Cool shots. I liked the second even better. However you are only allowed to post 1 image plus reworked versions of it in the image critique forum so I deleted it. If you ever want to post a series you can do so in the bird photograhy discussion forum. Thanks. :toast:

Neat action Craig. I would suggest more room at the bottom for the feet though.
