WC 450 - Shoot the Moon

I haven't posted here in a while, but I have a lot of night shots, so...this is my most recent night shot, taken last week. I shot this at f9.0, ISO 6400, 24mm for 30 seconds. f9.0 adds noise to the image, but it was the largest aperture I could get away with that still produced a good sun-star effect with the quarter moon. By using Topaz Denoise and keeping the image dark, I think the noise isn't too bad.

well done, Grant. I've never thought of producing a sun-star effect with the moon, very interesting :).

Excellent comp, nice movement in the clouds and yes, no discerible noise on my monitor. I must have Topaz Denoise! :jump:

Don't know how I missed this, It's just fantastic. That rock looks like a photographer checking the composition in his waist-level finder camera. It must be a reminiscence of my old days with my beloved Pentacon Six...

Really a great picture, congratulations. :toast: :toast:
