I like this a lot. You can see just a hint of detail behind the falls, creating a sense of mistery. The earthy tones are very pleasing and I like the level of detail in the water from the 1 second SS. I'm also really liking how the frame is divided diagonally. If anything, I may have been tempted to remove some of the sticks, since they are a minor distraction. Very nice image! :toast:

Hi John:
A very lovely shot. I like the transparent veil of water and the diagonal. Colors of the rocks look great. :toast:

The 'veil' is certainly wonderfully executed here. The diagonal split works well, nice shot.

Nice photo.
I like the contrasts. First the fluidity of the water with the hardness of the rocks. Second, the dark color with the gold in the rocks and the white of the water. The vertical lines of the water also contrast with the spherical forms of the rocks. The white at the base of the falls creates a "leading line to the far side of the photo. Then either the subtle greens behind the falls or the rocks bring the eye back.
Frame it.

Great composition John. I also like the glimpse of mossy green behind the cascade. I also agree with Jeff regarding the twigs, I often groom scenes before taking the shot. Very appealing image though, nice work.

I really like the intimate feel of this John. I also think you chose the perfect shutter speed to capture the water flow at it's best. Nice job.

Very nice John. Nice combination of the water and rocks. Ths shutter speed you chose worked very well. Nice that you can see the moss through the falls.

John,

The "sheet" of flowing water really steals the show here, but is complimented nicely by the base of rocks and silky water. The only thing I can think of to suggest would be to somehow tighten up the comp; specifically I'm wondering if you can crop in from the left and eliminate the black rocks in the LLC; if anything the little sticks in the corner are slightly distracting. But that's just a minor suggestion. This is nicely captured.

Beautiful - only nit is that it's cut off on the left side
