The Chocolate Factory

Dead Horse Point State Park, Utah

I've been on the fence about this image for a while, possibly due to the unconventional composition. This is a cropped version of the original - I came down off the sky and also on the left. The light really was spectacular that morning. I am trying to gauge opinions as to how well folks here like this presentation. Thanks for looking.
The large version I believe has a few less points of vibrance added...

The larger version really shows off the details wonderfully - pretty darn awesome. The clouds are the perfect topping for this.

Nice image Michael. Lot's of depth added by the slice of river and beautiful light in the mid-ground. This one really draws me in.

Thats one expansive scene which is probably pretty sweet in person. Good use of the minimal fg, although the wide angle makes one think there is room but you are close to the edge.
The sweep in the clouds suites the scene well.

Nice job Michael.

This is beautiful Michael. The detail in the large version is outstanding. I like the comp and those clouds really add drama to the scene.

This is fantastic, the sky is great, the clouds seem to go on forever. The color contrast between the sky and the sunlit cliffs is terrific. I really enjoy the composition, to me it looks very natural.

I like it, and I love that sky. The middle seems slightly weak on density, my only nit.

I like the comp as is. I wouldn't crop any more of the sky. Nicely done.

NIce capture Michael, although not in the top tier of my MG favorites. My only nit is that the fg takes up too much space considering it is only moderately interesting. The shrub is a nice element, but the meat of the scene is beyond and the abundant rock in the fg overpowers that a little, IMHO. The river, the sunwashed bluffs and the sky are awesome.

This is a beautiful picture. Very enjoyable looking at the large version for awhile. Great detail and the more you look the better it gets IMO. I like this comp myself. It really does give me the feeling as if I was standing there. Great sky that really tops this off  I guess what I like best is that it just seems so real, not over done and very natural. I like that! Well done, Michael.

The sky is superb, really complimented by the red rock. Somehow, I would still like to be able to see down into the canyon more and see a bit more river. I know this becomes more of a standard comp. from this area, but your sky is good enough to set it apart.

As an aside, I have been unable to load larger versions of my images here. Get the error message : "image not found". Have you ever had this issue?

Lovely detail! Really like the light as well. But the right hand side of the shot seems a bit "emtpy". I don't know, might be just me. :-)
