Burning Blur

No, I haven't run out of Dahlia images yet. I shot and processed this dahlia and it's two BG companions, with the intention of concentrating a narrow DOF on the main blooms center. I then added a very light softening layer with NIK's vignette blur filter to soften the BG and edges even more.

Hi Craig, It's very interesting. This image has a sense of urgency to it. It's as though the flower wants to leap out of the frame and grab the viewer. I think part of that comes from the tight crop and also the softening layer you're experimenting with. I've not tried the filters yet.

Nice job.

Very colorful shot. This looks like a very fun flower to experiment with. I think I like everything you've done here . . . the reds are almost a little too strong for me, but perhaps not quite.

Hi Craig :wavey: Vibrant detail and in color in the foreground. Wish the B.G. were more soft.
