I'm not really sure this picture fits in the Flora Gallery, but since my main subject is this lovely autumn fern I thought I'd give it a try. Please, if someone do not think this image is suitable for this category let me know.

Anyways, C&C is always welcome!

Tech:
Canon 5D
Canon 17-40 @ 17mm
f/22
15sec
ISO100
Lee .6 & .9 soft ND grads
Helipoan Polarizer

Cheers

Terrific image Hakon... Great depth and your comp is wonderful, Like how the colours of the fern lead us through and take us to the peeking peak which is framed nicely by the trees. Gorgeous colours as well :toast: :toast:

Hi Håkon,

Debashis took the words right out of my head, so I'll simply say, "Ditto." And welcome to NPN and Flora.

Cheers,

Carol

Welcome to NPN and flora Hakon. This is certainly the right place for this shot. I think our moderator Bill F. has said 'If it grows, it goes' before.

Great color in the fern. A very nice environmental type shot.

Now this is my kind of flora shot. Very pretty and very nicely composed.

Håkon: Welcome to the finest Flora gallery on the planet and thanks for a great first post here. It's a great fern and a great setting. Good call on using the polarizer. I like the mountain but not the sky so I think I would crop this to 4:5 from the top and leave the trees. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more. >=))> :wavey:

Beautiful scene Håkon. The image is just fine in this gallery. I like the fern and the mountain but agree with Bill about the sky. I'd probably crop from the top to a 4:5 aspect ration. Great introductory post to the gallery. I'm looking forward to seeing many more. Welcome aboard.

Great colors and details. I like the inclusion of the trees in the bg but agree with the sky comments. Love the saturation here it makes the shot IMO.

Thanks all! I'll try cropping this, but do you think I should include the top of the mountain? If so, the 4:5 crop will go into the bottom of the fern. Will try and experiment with it.

Thanks for all the feedback! Really appreciate it!

Beautiful image, Håkon ! A great perspective and lovely colouring - and I especially love the setting of the fern with the mountain background.

Absolutely LOVE the fern and the colorful fall setting! IMHO, there is no way to keep the mountain given the brightness of the sky. The fern is larger in the frame than the mountain anyway, so I would simplify the comp by cropping the top to where the first bit of the mountain & sky start to show through the trees. Just my take, but I think you'll have a real winner.
