Green Anole

I took this photo in Orlando in mid-may. I was trying to photograph a distant tri-colored heron and this guy popped up in front of me. I think this composition allows for the cut-off tail better than a vertical shot.

Nikon D300s 300 f4 + 1.7X TC HH
f/8
1/2000s
ISO 640 (too high)
-.33 EC

Minor crop for comp, sharpened subject, shadow/highlights to reduce bright spots on anole, unsharp mask on head to compensate for it's distance from the POF.

Nice pose on the anole, Luke. I am ok with the tail because I think it works with this comp.

Luke:
Nice pose from this anole. Yah it would be nice to have the whole tail but looks okay as it is. It looks a bit strange that the head is sharper than the rest of the body; maybe you should sharpened the whole anole.

I think the overall comp is very nice Luke, this soft BG environment makes it great.
