Snowy Egret
by Mia McPherson
Egretta thula
The morning I created this image in Florida was one of those magical days where the light was varied and the birds were plenty. I think the light in this image, combined with the pose of the egret and the water color is what makes it so appealing to me.
D200, handheld, laying flat in the tidal mud at the shoreline, F/7.1, 1/640, ISO 160, O ev comp, 80-400mm VR at 270mm, 75% of original frame, natural light, not baited. Larger version posted for evaluation of sharpness and detal.
As always, I sincerely appreciate your comments & critiques, thank you for looking.

The thumb nail just doesn't do this image any justice. What a beautiful image. The whites are stellar. The background is such a compliment to the whites in the bird (also nice and soft looking). You couldn't ask for a better head position. Can't think of a think to improve this. Too bad you had to get all muddied up for this but well worth the effort. It's one of those images that you have to see the large version to really appreciate. I hope more people open this up. It's well worth it. One of my favorite images of this species Mia!!!

Say, can I get a picture of you laying in the tidal mud?
Very well done
