Headed up to Willow springs lake in Payson,AZ to get some peace and relax. I wasnt expecting anything photographically to happen, as it said clear skies. But as I got near the lake, all these clouds rolled in. And 20mins later I am witnessing my best sunset!

Canon 5DII w/ 17-40mm f/4
f/16
Manual blend with 5sec and 2sec exposure

Check out the larger version too!
Thanks for looking!

I appreciate the juxtaposition of the peaceful lake and lonely rock with the exhilarating sky. I think some neutralization of the reds in strategic parts of the image (rock and trees) could provide a viewer with a visual anchor, against which the intensity of the clouds and reflection would be even more striking.

Wonderful shot Chikku, especially the larger version, which really shows off the blend and great details.

Stunning image Chikku. The color, the reflection, and that rock work so very well. Love how the clouds and reflection move the eye back to the vanishing point. Beautiful work.

This sunset is a real treat! Not to mention you had this sunset on a lake without much (or any) wind to get the amazing reflection!
Great image!

This is beautiful Chikku. I really like "X" which is created by the clouds and reflection. I also like how you chose to include the foreground rock in the scene.

Some nitpicking: A little bit of halo above the treeline in the middle, and just over the little rock on the lefthand side. Would also have liked the foreground to be just a tad more exposed. I also agree that you should "neutralize" the reds on the rock a bit.

But: Excellent comp! and those clouds are really great. Love the way both the clouds themselves and the reflection of them is "pulling" you into the scene.

Really nice! Beautiful sky and reflection. The rock in the foreground comp really sets this off. Nice work.
