Arise - Part 3

Thanks to the outstanding feedback I received from everyone here earlier in the week, I decided to process another version of this photo. This one blends the water and mountain from "Arise" with the sky from "Arise Part 2". This was a fairly challenging blend due to the slight variation in color between the 2 photos, which had to be corrected. Please let me know what you think. I prefer this one over both of the previous versions.

Nikon D80, 12-24 Nikkor dx lens, polarizer, tripod.

2 exposure manual blend
-10 sec at f/16, ISO 100 - for the water/mountain - 4 stop ND filter was used to smooth out the reflection on the water
-1 sec at f/16, ISO 100 - for the sky

Scott - I think this is the one! Everything works in this one for me. Great detail in the rock face. From a comp standpoint, maybe only wish there was a little more room on the left, les on the right, but this might not have been possible. All versions are pretty sweet by the way, you had the forsight tocreate different version for just this purpose.

Nice job, Harry :toast:

Yup, this definitly is the one! It has the best elements of both images combined, looks like a great job on the blend too. :toast:

Your blending is very good Scott, that's a great looking lump of rock you captured and the light on it is excellent.

Gary.

Well you caught the light just right on this one. Well done Scott! I cannot see anything I would change here, a fine image.

Very well done. This does indeed appear to be the best of the bunch with the blend working very well. Nice one.

Really nice job with the blend Scott! Light is sweet and I love the rocks (although a few in the LLC might get evicted) and overall a really nice job!

Yeah, this is the best one in terms of light, colours, and composition. There's still a little issue though, that is clouds and reflections now don't match (of course!). But that's really minor, as it's hardly noticeable and you can only tell that if you actually know this is blended from two images, and if you have seen the two images before the blending.

Stunning place, wonderful photograph.

Awesome shot! I especially appreciate this because Mt. Hooker has been on my dream destination list for many years. This seems to be a successful blend and the best of all versions.
