Shot this a couple of years ago when I hit peak fall color in Talladega National Forest. Haven't seen it this good since. It was a very dry year so the FG stream was almost dry, but the color was great. Please view LARGER size for a better sense of the details.

Exquisite range of color and beautifully composed! Perhaps just a tad over sharpened, or is it the Orton effect, or is it just me?

Oh, I remember this one Bill. It really opened my eyes to autumn in the South. This comp, with the interesting tree trunk on the left, the stream, and the leaf-covered forest floor on the right has a lot going on, and it all comes together well as a showcase for the colorful leaves.

Bill, I love the patterns, the light, and the lines created by the delicate foliage.

Awesome image.

Cheers,

Orton works well with fall color, doesn't it? This is great as is, and also works for me with a pano crop removing the bottom.

Beautiful, Bill. Somehow, you simultaneously muted yet vibrant colors.

Such a serene feeling.

Dreaming of Fall color out here in the Great PNW, where we are not having Fall, I opened my eyes and saw this! Wow, Bill– terrific color and a fine result with your processing. I was surprised to see that you added a slight orton effect. Not the look I would expect from orton, you really had a light hand with it. Congrats on the EP.
