Sacandaga River Autumn - WC 453
by Wayne Jones
Here's a cropped version of one I shot and posted last fall as a wider panorama. One thing I am always delighted to find is backlit leaves against a dark background, so when I found that lighting, along this graceful curve in the East Branch of the Sacandaga River, I was really excited. In fact, I like everything about this shot, including the sparkling reflections. I know some people would call those "blown out" but I believe that pure, blinding white, as well as pure black are colors that we see in nature, and avoiding them is avoiding a beautiful part of reality.
