I know this is not everybody’s cup of tea but I just wanted to shoot oystercatchers a little bit different. What do you think, should I keep my camera gear???

I think the blurred birds and especially the panned water came out great. Now you just need to convince them to fly either higher or lower so the horizon isn't such a distraction.

Quite nice, Dennis. You did a great job panning with the birds. I assume you were set up on a tripod (?) BTW, I'd keep the Oly gear. That 300 is fantastic. I have the same combo including both TC's and use them a lot!

Great capture. I'm torn between having the entire background with streaked lines and having the clear sky. Either way, I think this is nice.

I love this! I tried for a couple of days to capture an image similar to this. They are so beautiful when they change directions and light is captured on the wing. Nice job. I agree, it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I appreciate something different once in a while. Sharon

I usually pass this type of shot by without a comment - typically I know instantly they don't appeal to me. This one has me thinking Dennis - there's just something about it that grabs me.

A very interesting shot Dennis. The water and distinct break with the sky really is great looking IMO. The birds blur work so well with the water. I think it all came together for a really cool shot. The one think I think would make this even better would be if the heads of the birds were a bit shaper to all the view to recognize the species. Still really cool.

Actually pretty cool. I like the subdued tones here. The water kind of reminds me of the rings of Saturn.

I think your risk paid off nicely Dennis. I like the limited colors and crisp, clean look. Works for me.

Very artistic, Dennis and it works for me. The stripy water is really very nice.
