Taken in a favorite grove of old growth along the White River in Washington north of Mt. Rainier. I tried to capture the quietness of the spot.

Using the two trees as framing devices works well, but unfortunately my eyes get lost in the space between. Perhaps a shorter exposure would have reduced the brightness so that a little bit more of the forest structure came through, rather than just seeing all sorts of disconnected details. To that end, I'd also likely have gone with a wider aperture to help blur the background a bit more and simplify the scene somewhat. Then again, I've had little success with complicated forest shots, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

I like the framing of the outer trunks and the almost green glow. Could see burning the left trunk a bit darker to heighten the framing concept.
