This is a shot from a few weeks ago. The weather was quite miserable but we braved the elements and the horizon cleared just at the right time.

D700 16-35 @ 16mm
f11 .6sec ISO100
PP multi shot blend, levels/curves etc

Love the comp and the shutter speed - the only thing that bugs me is what seems like a light imbalance. The left side is generally darker, esp. the ULC, and the bright spot in the sky really pulls my eye towards it. Since this is a multishot blend anyway, it might not be too difficult to improve this by evening out the light levels. Great coastal scene!

Wow, I am not sure what to say. whole composition is amazing and the light is supurb. You caught the movement of the wave right as it is was cresting. Great shot!

Andrew,

I think this is a fantastically composed seascape. So often folks fall in to the same habits of wanting to include both the foreground element and a ton of sky. Well I really love how you have composed this image. the foreground shapes and even including the tiny details are showcased beautifully. But you've also managed to incorporate a wonderful midground (the sea) and top this off with a dramatic skyline - yet because of your comp, the dramatic sky becomes a compliment to the scene rather than dominating it. Job well done - at least for me.

Some aggressive beauty displayed here Andrew. The rock cut-outs portray a unique symmetry in the fg.
Great light up top.

When I saw the thumbnail I thought this was taken in Lofoten. I have a picture from this weekend with an almost identical foreground subject. :-)
Really wonderful picture. Lovely comp and water movement. Great sky in the background. Great work.

Very attractive composition and dramatic light. I really like the textures throughout the scene in the rocks, water, and sky.
