Taken from Wiseman's View in Linville Gorge, NC. To me this gives an impression of the wildness of the gorge. There's no trail here so who knows how many people have actually been at this spot.

What goegeous conditions! I like that you didn't go overboard with color saturation as the low key colors here really enhance the mood.

Pretty spot with some good natural colours and some fog to add to the mood. My only suggestion would be to sharpen it some more and/or save it at a higher quality.

Very painterly indeed. A good combo of fall colors and moody conditions.

Love the mood this evokes - beautiful foggy day. Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing a wee more saturation, but that's minor.

Very nice scene and good composition, the fog and colors add to the feeling of a "wild place." It appears a touch soft on my monitor, maybe a little sharpening would do the trick. I think I'd prefer a bit stronger color, and maybe a touch of contrast.

The foggy gorge really sets the stage for a nice adventure piece. Well seen Dale

Stunning scene Dale. It looks like an incredible place. I re-visited this image several times today just to have another look. I like the presnetation here very much and I agree with the others who commented on the softness of the scene. I find the sharpness of the foliage and contrast levels on the rocks in the LRC to be a bit soft for my tastes. Anyways, super original, extremely well crafted, great work. Congrats.

Thanks for all the comments, much appreciated. I decided to use a light hand on the color, contrast and sharpening on this one to preserve the mood with the flat lighting. It's always such a temptation to push the saturation too far on fall foliage but I did add a bit.

I think the softness folks are noting actually enhances the painterly feel to the image. This is just wonderful, Dale!

This has a wonderful painterly quality to it, Dale. The muted fall colors along with the fog and slight softness all work beautifully together in this scene. Well done IMO.

Great scene you have captured Dale. Especially like the "blurry" feel and the fog that rise from the bottom. The cliff with the red trees are placed perfectly in the composition. Very moody and a wonderful autumn capture. :toast:
