Simon, this is really nice. I love the colors on this bird and the great sharpness and detail. I am not familiar with this species, but the feathers look a bit "crispy" to me. Maybe a bit too much sharpening? If this is how the species feathers naturally appear, please disregard the sharpening question. The top part of the BG is stellar, and though IMO the image would be stronger with the entire BG being like the top, the bottom areas is blurred enough to work just fine. Really nice overall.

Nice one Simon - just as they look.
For those not familiar with this species the iridescence of the blue is quite breathtaking, particularly in their usually quite drab habitat.

Very pretty bird, very good image of it! The long OOF branch does bother me abit, I wonder if a slighly lower angle would have helped reduce it's impact. Still a winning photo IMHO. Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous, Simon. Great detail in the bird and I really like the dof in this one. The main part of the perch is perfectly blurred. :toast:

"Breathtaking" is certainly the right word for this bird Simon. It looks, well... splendid. I like the soft flowing lines of the OOF background in lower left.
