Pacific Sandstone

Carlsbad, California

The title is not quite right, but the scene is reminiscent of the colorful sandstone in Tony Kuyper's backyard.

I found a new beach place to shoot close to my home. When the tide is low enough, there are some cool foreground rocks and shapes that reach out into the sea. This shot was not from the sweet spot, but rather on the walk down the beach towards the stairs. The ripples in the sand were fun to shoot as the light faded.

Definitely Kuyper's colors. Love the ripples in the foreground. All the mix of textures make the image stand out plus the color. Hope you're doing well Jimmy. Nice work.

I like the tranquil mood this composition evokes. My only suggestion would be to consider cropping out the less colorful sky at the top.

Beautiful transitions between sand, water and sky. The minimalist/abstract plan works a treat.

Got to love those foreground ripples and the blend between sand - water is superb.
