Came upon this Egret searching for fish. It's amazing how much they see from a distance.

Wayne, I like the relaxed look of the bird and the fact that some of the detail of the green vege behind the bird is coming through the black. Perch adds nice geometry to the shot.

Really nice image. I have looked at it for several minutes now-good sign. Love the white bird against the black background. I like the composition with the simple perch. The bird appears to be nice and sharp. The leaves in the background-I would consider either making them less apparent, or possibly bringing them up more. As they are, I tried to clean my monitor of finger prints.

Very nice contrast between the Egret and the BG, and the exposure is very well handled.

nice job with the exposure here. I like the contrast in the image. This is one of the few avian examples when I think B&W might work just as well or better.

Wayne,
I really like how the bird stands out from the dark veggie background. Great perch too.

I just wish there was a little more detail in the wings to show more that its a feather than skin.

I like it as posted. If you bging up the BG I think that it will look artificial.

Sharpness and white exposure looks good Wayne. I also like the perch. I'm seeing a bright narrow white border, especially along the upper back of the bird and the top of the head. It doesn't look to me like a typical halo. Did you darken the background?

Ron, I darkened the bg a lttle, but that's not causing the white border because it's not in my psd even at 100%. Must be sharp for web. You've got good eyes. Didn't notice it before. The main thing is it wouldn't likely show up in a print.

Large view looks great Wayne, the 4:5 frame works well for this.
Great details, the bird & "search perch" stand out nicely

Good use of negative space. The pose, the branch and the dark background all work well together. Nice photo.
