One of the difficulties of hiking with non-photographers is that it is hard to stop and take the time to do it right while everyone else is waiting for you. This is a quick handheld shot from 2009 in the Wind River Range of Wyoming-one of my favorite places on earth.

Beautiful mountain scene and very well balanced comp. Nice that you also include a lake for added interest. Nice work Chad.

I can see why this is your favorite place on earth, Chad. It's so beautiful, this image makes me want to go visit it now! I can relate to traveling with non-photographers and having to rush while making an exposure, but you did a very impressive job here.

I know what you mean about hiking with non-photogs. I've modified my behavior to either hike with them or when not hiking with photogs to leave the camera at home. :) Very nice scene and I'm sure it's even more amazing with better light.

I've always wanted to backpack this area and this image keeps my interest alive. I don't even try to explain to other non-photogs why we need to wait at a particular location for a few more hours, or possibly even days any more. Nice work!

Chad,

This is a very good alpine landscape capture. I like the composition. What a great view and an interesting and complimentary sky.

With the cloudy-bright day you hopefully were able to get away with a decent shutter speed and hand holding should work ok, but the image does appear a little soft to me. It either needs a little better sharpening for the web, or perhaps the original is just a tad soft. The only other suggestion I have would be some selective burning down of the brighter areas; especially the landscape on the left and lower left. Also, I think the mountains and sky could use a little contrast boost. Otherwise though, this is a nicely composed image of a beautiful landscape.
