Echoes of the Night

This picture is an abstract evocation of the "devil's peak" and the "mont blanc" in the Chamonix Valley ( 74, France ).

I've used a very dark filter to reach 30 seconds in the evening light .. there was fast moving clouds surrounding the mountains.

Colors are a bit odd and I try it in B&W here .
The color version is visible here : http://autumn-ethereal.deviantart.com/art/Echoes-of-the-Night-173490873

If you prefer a version , just tell me . it helps!

thank you for viewing my work.

I like this version a little bit better than the color one, as it conveys the surreal and dark atmosphere in a significantly stronger manner. It's a fantastic piece of work, Alexandre!

They're both sweet, but this is the version I prefer. I love the darkness and mood of the image, the clouds and highlights are oh so sweet!

Great shot. I like how you capture these well known, well photographed Alps landscapes in a very different style - inspiring

Spooky mood created with the B&W.- and the sharp peaks to the far left. Lord of the Rings castle! I might have cropped a bit tight of the top and to the left, leaving plenty of the good negative space. Very artistic.

Great stuff Alex. You've created some great moodiness with this B&W. A pleasure to look at.

My vote would be the black and white. I like the color version as well but for me this version is more powerful and evokes a feeling of desolation for me. Sweet image and great work!

I like both, but definitely prefer the color version. I think the patch of blue sky adds something to the image that the B&W lacks. Really nice conditions and lighting.

This is fantastic and is perfect as a B&W - I'm not even going to bother looking at the color version as this is an image that just has to be a B&W. Probably just my monitor but if you print this I would pay attention to not losing detail at the lower left corner. Wonderful image.

The color version isn't bad, but with the dark portion of the sky, I think it works better in B&W.
Amazing capture! :toast: :jump:

Alexandre,

This is outstanding! What a dramatic image of light and a subject matter that accentuates that light so beautifully. Just awesome!
