This photo has been taken last weekend on a stormy, overcast, low clouds morning. Perfect time to start shooting (despite that it was pissing down:) but I had to convince myself to get up early from my very warm and cosy bed and drive to the spot.
My theme was to greab the water movement and its scale on that spot.
I know, "Water" - who hasn't done it eh :). It might be boring, overdone subject for most of you but to be honest, I still love it. Finding the new ways, lines, flow, angles well anything that comes to my mind is very exciting.
I am very interested in what you feel and think when you look at it.
Most development was done using Tony Kuypers tips (thanks Tony!)
Thanks for looking and any comments
Oh BTW, I still can't figure out how to call it. "Stay calm" comes from the fact that I had to brace myself to make sure tripod and I stay still when the wave crushed.

Very dramatic, I have a place I could do this but I know it well and there are places I can stay out of the way of almost all of the waves. But it sure makes me think because I just saw a show on cable about Rouge waves, kinda scary but I think they mostly happen far offshore. But I have seen large sets 1/3 to 1/2 taller than the sets rolling in and waves crash on shore smash across the rocks, the beach and 20 ft up the cliffs in a cove at Palos Verdes. By the way this set washed 3 people out into the cove and one drowned so be careful out there.

The water and sky, especially, are nice.
Hope you have good all-risk camera insurance if you like to take shots like this.

This one is excellent!
The semi-dark presentation and heavy contrast really accentuate the mood here. I think this is fabulous! Love the mood and the motion of the sea just pulls me in to the scene... just as if I could feel the water pulling me in when standing in the surf. Well done.
