Pfynwald - 1
by Julian Barkway
I haven't posted anything in ages but now I've finally got a stack of new material up together - of which this is the first image.
This is a small area of wetland in the Pfynwald - an area of largely pine forest in Canton Valais, Switzerland...

9 commentsI love two things about this photo, the first is the wonderful detail throughout and second the way you have composed it with the BG trees just poking through just enough. Gives me a sense of plying hide and seek.

BTW your website is loaded with stunning landscapes. I especially like
"Autumn at La Goule I" from the Gorges Du Doubs gallery. Awesome work.
@Bruce: thanks for the kind words about my website. You might be interested to know that I have a few more images from the Gorges du Doubs in the pipeline. It's an area which just keeps pulling me back...

Nice to see an image from you! It has been a little while.
I really like this one with the combination of the elements, with the autumn color, the grasses and the pines. Everything is working well together. Not really a nit, but alternatively I could see about 1/3 of the grasses cropped out. But that's really minor.
A lovely image and I'm glad to see you post an image. I hear ya though about not having any new images, which is the same reason I haven't posted anything recently. I hope to change that in another week, perhaps sooner. anyway, very nice work Julian.
