I hope this is naturally monochromatic enough for this week's challenge. No desaturation used. Monochromaticity due to the eerie light on Inverness Beach and my exposure of course. Taken this October Nova Scotia Canada.

Canon 24-70mm at 45mm
ISO100 1/180sec f/11
2-Stop Reverse ND Gradient

I like that you stopped the wave action with a fast exposure as they give some nice texture to the image. And the light of course is awesome. Probably just my monitor but the detail is lost in the llc.

Great job of capturing that dynamic light, Eva! I love the reflected light on the water also. The land is pretty solid black due to the extreme dynamic range of the scene but its not the main attraction anyway. A multi-exposure blend would have given you plenty of detail in the shadows but it probably would have blurred the waves too. A beautiful beachscape and I think it definitely meets the intent of the challenge.

Lovely! So lovely that id crop it and keep the right side, which is really really lovely, as opposed to just lovely for the black stuff on the left...

Lovely shot Eva! I disagree with stan on the crop. IMO the sunlit area in the cove is needed to (probably the wrong work) justify the darker areas.
