WC #458 Water jewels

This shot was taken in the Alps last winter. The snow was starting to melt and clear, limpid water went down from the roofs.
I like the steel effect of the water here.

40D 300
f5,6 1/5000
ISO 400

Thanks for viewing.
C&C are very welcome.

Beautiful shot Monica. I especially like the little star burst highlights. I just wish the bottom water was in focus.

Man, if only the bottom were in focus.... :frown: Cause the top is exquisite! You're just going to have to go back to this spot in the Alps and hope that you can find the same icicle....

Great light and I agree, the "steel" effect makes the shot :toast:

Monica,

The comp is spot on and I agree about all the water needing to be in focus.I do not get the feeling that it is moving away from me so I am drawn into the oof as my eyes move through the image.I would try again if possible because the top is a WOW.

Creative idea, Monica. It is always interesting to me to see liquid flow captured at high speed. In this case it's even more interesting because of what you told us in the caption. The OOF portion can be considered as a way of adding depth to the image. Alternatively, you could crop to remove it. I'm fine either way. :toast:
