I really like Dark-eyed juncos. Maybe it's the geek in me, but when a whole flock of them are around my feeders, the noise they make sounds like laser blasts from Star Wars.

Thanks for looking. :wavey:

Gorgeous bird - I had one like this yesterday but the perch was not nearly as nice. If you have more room on the left I would add it.

Excellent portrait - I especially like the head-turn, detail and earthy tones of bird, perch and background.

Excellent image Joel, very nice.
I shot a predominately gray one this morning, perhaps I'll post it next time around.
It's neat to see the color variation where you are :wavey:

A really pleasing image Joel. Love the all the browns in this shot. My only nit is maybe a bit less sharpening on the bird, but I could be wrong as sometimes I have a tough time judging oversharpness. No doubt this is tack sharp in-camera, but the processing made the feathers look just a bit "crispy" to me.

Beautiful portrait Joel - stunning detail. I'd be tempted to add a bit to the left or take away a little from the right

cheers

Lovely soft understated colors. I agree with a slight shift in composition to move the bird a little to the right.

An excellent shot! I love the head turn and the colours, although I agree with the composition suggestions.

Joel, everything about this image comes together in a soft, subtle harmony. The perch is great as is the bg. I'm amazed at how much is in sharp focus with your lens wide open. And the bird is simply beautiful. Very fine image.
