Spent an afternoon on the beach at Fort Desoto Park south of Tampa watching these Sandwich Terns going through all sorts of rituals - they were hilarious. This guy walked around for 15 minutes offering this little fish to all the 'babes' on the beach, but he never gave it to any of them.

Canon 7D, 600mm
1/500 @ 8.0
ISO 200
85% crop

C & C welcomed and encouraged - thanks for looking.

Congrats on getting catchlight on those black eyes and the black head. A very nice image...

Lovely - very tough eyes to catch!
A little more room on the bottom would be nice, if possible.
Nice feather detail and BG.

I like the overall comp here Randy. Great interaction between the two birds and I love the fish. Nice water BG and overall exposure.

Randy,

This is a terrific picture. The detail on the minnow really highlights the yellow tipped beak of the tern.

Thanks for sharing! :toast:

Randy,

I like your low angle, the interaction between the terns, prey in the bill and the water in the background. I think you might be able to tease just a little more detail out of the black crests.
