Just after daybreak at Montgomery Bell State Park. I hike in this park and its three lakes nearly every weekend. It is a magical place and a gem in the Tennessee State Park system.

I love the warm color palette here and the foreground patterns are especially fascinating to me. Beautiful image.

Beautiful, warm light on the water and a perfect fall reflection. This is beautiful.

A beautiful Fall image, with the gold band in the reflection pushing this over the top. On the down side, I can't decide if I would want more or less reflection, but what is here seems a bit awkward.

Lovely water surface. I only wish the trunks were a bit more neutral in color. Otherwise great capture, Robert.

Magical is a great way to describe it. The combination of golden light and Autumn colours is hard to beat.

Robert,

It actually took a couple of views for me to realize that it was light hitting the surface of the water and not a bunch of brightly covered pollen or something... kind of a concentration of what we see in the foreground water, only concentrated. Anyway, the bottom line is that this light really makes this image. I would even consider cropping from the top to force some symmetry which I also think would bring emphasis to the band of light and graphics of this.

Although I like the warm color balance, and this may just be me, but in the trunks of the trees the color goes a little green. I know there's plenty of nice dark greens to influence this, but I'm just observing a slight color cast. Not a big deal and certainly within the realm of personal interpretation.

Thanks, Lon, for pointing out the color cast. I calibrated my monitor, again, and yes it was slightly a bit to the green side. Fixed it and wow, it pops much better now.
Thanks!
Sometimes we look at an image too long and little things like a slight color cast are missed.

That is some very special light, Robert. It's almost like it's lighting the trees from below.
