I am working on some new landscape photography concepts... this is my first attempt at commenting on environmental issues through photography.

I froze gallon jugs of water, drove 30mins to the beach, cut the freezing plastic off with a buck knife, and then placed the frozen sculptures in the rocks. I photographed it at sunset. The light on the sun is what makes it beautiful, but it is also what destroys it.

This is my attempt at commenting on our global addiction to plastic, and the negative effects it has on our ocean eco-systems. I recycled the plastic after this project, but was able to leave these objects sitting on the beach, knowing that they would melt and return to earth without negatively effecting the surrounding environment.

This is a new area for me, so I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks.

I like the concept, as well as your execution. And frankly this touches into the realm of "fine art" that garners both big bux in sales and endowments for ongoing work.

If that's not encouragement enough to continue, let me say this: I hope to see more of your concepts! I don't believe I've seen such a "conceptual art" approach applied to environmental photojournalism before, but I think you've hit on something really worthwhile.

Be sure to invite us all to your first show!!!! :toast:
