Juniper Titmouse

Juniper Titmouse on a setup perch in my yard. Not the ideal angle for the bird or its head. I'm a little undecided about the green sprigs--I like them, but wish they were anchored to the perch. I do like the grays throughout.

Nice intimate and detailed look at this little cutie Brian. I agree with your concern about the green sprigs and your fondness for the monotones in the image otherwise.

Brian,
I really like the pose, the detail and the gray background. I'm undecided about the green sprigs. IMO they don't add to the image but at the same time don't bother me. Nice work. :toast:

I like the green sprigs, as it somehow grounds the bird and perch for me. Without them, it would be another bird on branch shot (not that those are bad, mind you!), that is just sort of "floating" there without any context. Yes, that's what the sprigs do for me: they add context.

Terrific detail; the shrubbery works for me. It takes it a bit away from a BOAS.

Beautiful! I don't mind the greenery at all.

I really like the image. I also agree with Monica that they do not add anything.

Looks great to me as posted, Brian. Beautiful detail. Lovely colors. The bit of green from the sprigs is a nice contrast to the greys. Also, it seems as though the bird is looking at the sprigs. :toast:

Brian,

I don't mind the green sprigs, the end of the cut twig on the LRC pulls my eye more. I agree with your evaluation of the image though I find the head angle a touch whimsical. There seems to be some noise evident in the gray background, I would probably attempt some noise reduction on it. I tried photographing this species in southern Utah and they moved quick, nice work getting this one out in the open and sitting still.

I love these birds. They are so cute and I love their chatter too. I spent a bit of time the other day chasing a couple of these and got nothing worth keeping. I think this is an adorable image with excellent details. I like the greenery peeking in.

Lovely detail in the large version Brian. I think it's quite a good head angle - but not for seeing the body. I like the greens but I wonder what it would look like with more room on the right. :toast:

Lovely detail and light Brian. I like the greenery, adds a splash of colour. Possibly a little tight for my tastes but I suspect I'm at the extreme end of the spectrum when it comes to room around the bird

cheers
