Just another image from the Subway area. I'm sure you are all sick of this place

I'm not sick of it especially when we get to see new perspectives and comps. Having never had the good fortune to visit the area I love to see different shots of the canyon. I love the foreground swirl!

Nice shot Jimmy. The foreground color is fantastic. It was nice to have the Rope in place this year. It was my first time visiting the upper region, though I didn't take any shots.

That twirl in the foreground is killing me. Nice one, Jimmy.

I have never been there - and that shot I have not seen before! Love the spiral engravement in the fg. I am not too fond of that log - but good you kept it in place anway - because it looks like it can be removed rather easily - an activity which I would not be too fond of either...

Where is the water?? It's hard to tell there is water in the scene here but I think that makes even more intriguing.

The comp here just flows, Jimmy. The muted color and subtle lighting just draw me through the frame.

Very strong abstract quality to this, especially the bottom half. Great details and nice color palette...the lighting is strong as well. Nice job.

Nice leading lines in this photo. Amazing geometry from water flow is depicted. Good depth of field. I somehow wish for slightly more orange color to contrast with the subtle blue.
I like.

Don't recall anything like this. That foreground swirl could almost be it's own picture. Could see jacking up the sat just a bit here.

I do like the swirls in the sand, and the subtle glow at the back of the canyon.

What an intricate pattern. It almost looks like it was intentionally put there. The things nature does are amazing.

Clearly, the most interesting section is at the bottom, and then there is some nice glow a little over mid-way up. The top is throwing things off. There's a lot of space without much in it. It feels awkward to cut down into the middle of that log, but even with the awkwardness, I like a 4x5 aspect ratio more.

Jimmy,

Maybe I've seen this log before, but I don't ever recall this comp, so it certainly works for me! Personally, I think you've got some room for a little more processing "interpretation." Contrast, saturation, highlights... a few things you could have fun with. Definitely a great view and comp.

Very cool, Jimmy. I love the swirl in the foreground -- I tried to photograph that swirl last year too, but it was full of water, which wasn't as attractive as it is here. I like the color contrasts of the greens and reds.

I just wish for water and a bit more reflective light.
