I need to get a little more creative with naming my photos but anyway, we've been having some great sunsets in San Diego the last couple nights. What struck me about this comp to me is the X pattern the light is creating. Very little post just a little TK shadow masks and lens correction.

Todd,

What strikes me about this photo is its clean crispness, especially along the horizon.

Yes I did use a polarizer and I did see the x and then composed quickly because it was not there just a moment before and never know how long it will last. I always try to pay close attention to straight horizons and I think in this case it wad super important to the comp because I wanted to give a sense of scale but showcase the color and clouds

Todd - fantastic light! I love the warmth in the tones above the horizon. I'm not really sure how I feel about the negative space in the top third of this image. My first reaction is that the clouds in the upper right and left are distracting.

I think a crop of this top third would really improve the composition.

Great display of light and the contrast is very well handled. I would favour cropping down to below those stray clouds on top. Lovely shot.

Really nice colors, extra cool light beams, and nice handling of the exposure.

Nice exposure! I like this presentation, but have you considered a pano?

I did consider than pano while processing but decided to go full frame and I kind of liked the negative space. Since it has been mentioned a couple times here you go, and I do like it but it does feel diffferent. What do you think

This almost feels abstract without any "Earth" in it. Nicely handled light. I like the textures on the dark sides of the clouds.

Todd,

Can't argue with a great and clean sunset image. Nice star effect with the sun streaks and I really like the hard line and proportion of the ocean/horizon. Nice one.
