Piggyback Primroses

These evening primroses grow all around here. I thought the color and the "pose".

I tried blurring the green background, and found that I liked the original version better. I liked the crisper green background. Blurring it gave it a weird look.

Very pretty image!
Nice colors and I like the frame!
Are you using a tripod? Seems just a bit soft in places.

It works well for me as posted Lucy. Love the composition. The only thing I might consider is a very small crop from the top so that both the top and bottom bloom are slightly clipped. I like the mood of this one a lot.

Lucy: Pat took the words out of my mouth. Excellent DOF management and I like the dusting of pollen. >=))>

thanks everybody. Sandy, I haven't felt that the ""Canon SX10 IS "deserved a good tripod. I've been waiting to save up enough to get a Canon SLR. Plus, I'm not sure how low a tripod can go? I shot this laying in the ground...Is there a good (inexpensive) tripod for macros that low to the ground?

This is a very pretty shot of these flowers, one of my favorites, too. Bill and Pat have a good suggestion about cropping. Just the same, I like it this way, too, for the little group of flowers in the upper left. The leaf details at the bottom balance everything out nicely. Good work.
P.S. As to tripods: Yes, there are tripods that will go low to the ground; the center post is removed and the legs can be set to a more "flattened" position. But even just using your backpack, camera bag, or rolled up coat on the ground on which to steady your camera can make a significant difference, even with IS.
