Last rose of summer

Nikon D300, Sigma 150. F/22, 4sec, ISO 200, mirror up, cable release.

Perhaps the title should read "the last rose of autumn". We had frost and snow in Canada, all the roses were gone, wilted. Then like a miracle my favourite rose, a David Austin rose "Queen Nefertiti" produced one last beautiful bloom. It's not without wear from the weather but I love it! Comments appreciated.

I love the color of this rose, Albert. It's a beauty as is your photography. I wish it had a leaf to root it to this earth. As it is now, IMO, it's floating out in the Universe.

Cheers,

Carol

I have a couple David Austin roses myself, but not this variety. This one is beautiful (both rose and image).

Albert:
This is a fabulous rose. Love the color and luscious petals. Great to see this pop out of the black bg. :toast:

Just superb colour and detail, Albert ! Great choice of angle - the full frontal effect with the black bg makes for a very powerful image.

Yes Albert, the last rose in our garden bewitches our hart. It seems that the cold weather has satured its color. Splendid the photo and the flower.
Take care.
