Scarlet-and-Green Leafhopper

Canon 10D, Sigma 180+1.4xTC, Gitzo/A-S B1
ISO 100, 1/200s, f/16, 550EX+diffuser -1/3
Cropped, about 75% of original size

I thought I'd unload one from my meager leafhopper collection. This was from last weekend in my backyard. I was suprised at the number of leafhoppers showing up after leaving a small section of grass unmowed for a couple weeks.

Suggestions are always welcome, and thank you for viewing!

This is a wonderful shot of an unusually colorful leafhopper. I think I saw one of these for the first time this summer, but couldn't get a good angle on it before it took off. Love the low angle here, along with everything else. :jump:

Cool shot, Jay. I love the simplicity of it. The variety of colors in insects is amazing.

Jay,

Simply put this is one sweet image. It's about as good a leafhopper image as I have seen. Don't see anyway to improve, very nice work. :toast: :toast:
