Yosemite NP. USA, May 2010 Last day at Yosemite and finally able to see rainbow(s) at the Yosemite Fall. Do you guys think the water in lower portion too bright and distracting?

Settings: Nikon D80, 48mm Nikkor 24-70mm 2.8, f/13, 1/80, ISO100

C&C are welcome and appreciated.

I like the double rainbow.against the rock wall. I don't think the lower cascade is too bright

I think that the water's fine the way it is. What does draw my attention is the cliff's colour difference in the area between the rainbows versus above the top rainbow. I would have guessed that you hit that area with the saturation brush or something like that because it just seems so much more vibrant and crisp whereas everywhere else looks a little hazy/misty. Even if that's how it appeared naturally, I'd be tempted to reduce the contrast between those zones.

I don't find the water or brightness to be distracting. The dark foliage and rocks along the edge of the frame is hurting the composition, in my opinion. I really like the water and the rainbows against the wall of granite, and the dark areas feel as if they're invading the image, instead of helping to frame it.

Thanks for the feedback.

Kenn, good eyes on catching the saturation differences. I will rework these zones.

Jason, you brought up an interesting point on the dark foliage and rock areas. I was using these as framing elements.
