Short Eared Owl

The short eared owls most of the time kept there distance in and out of the trees so have decided to work with the distance and keep the habitat and keep the bird quite small in the frame, just a slight noise reduction on the background but to be honest was quite impressed with the high ISO, just think the noise reduction has given a nicer effect in the bg.Not a bit crop some off the left and bottom for better comp.Again light was pretty poor but will keep working on them and hopefully they will decide to come out a bit earlier.

This looks great especially considering that slow shutter speed Karen, a very nice bird in flight habitat type shot.

I agree with the previous comments. I wish I could get a shot at a Short Eared Owl.

Nice one Karen. I like the inclusion of the habitat and the bird is still very much the focus of the image

cheers

Karen, I love well done images where the birds are small in the frame and where the habitat is as much a part of the photo as the bird, this one is very appealing to me. Love the subtle tones in the background and how the vegetation is oof enough not to be distracting, but in focus just enough to give the viewer a sense of place. Beautiful view of the eye and I love the flight pose of the owl.

Great image. Love the white bird against this background. Very intent look by the owl. Despite it's size in the frame you have achieved very nice detail. Well done.
