Slight crop with very minor processing. Late afternoon about 15 minutes before sunset so light was really good. Had to use a higher ISO than I normally like but it didn't seem to hurt the shot too much. Wanted to include some habitat. I think it really helps make the shot. Love the foreground. Let me know what you think. Comments and suggestions always apreciated. Please see larger version for critique. Thanks!

This displays the habitat of a Herrier very well.

Sweet, David. An excellent shot of the harrier, and I really like the texture of the foreground vegetation. I don't see enough noise to worry about the iso. :toast:

David,

I don't see any problem with noise in this image. I like the habitat included, it is areas like this that we see harriers in. I like how the water is visible too.

I'd consider reducing the exposure globally a bit, that would enrich the colors of the bird. The light forward edge of the wings look a bit bright too, reducing exposure would help there too.

Love the pose, the one dangling foot and the eye contact.

Like the composition that you have chosen for this image. I would bring up the mid-tones a bit.

A really great shot showing this bird doing what is does best. Love the habitat. I would drop the exposure on the entire image a bit and bring down the mid-tones to make the colors really pop. Well shot.

Nice shot David, love the inclusion of habitat and agree it helps make this shot, especially the FG. Would agree with suggestions already made.
