Missed out on the first pelagic for the season a couple of weeks ago - exam marking and reports, so here's one from last year's equivalent trip.

I like the outstretched wings. The background is especially interesting -- I ususally see flight shots with the sky in the background and this is a nice change

I like the angle on this shot Rob. Nice exposure to get detail in the blacks and whites. Tough subject in that respect. Nice detail and sharpness too. Water BG works especially well for a pelagic species.

The black, white and grey of the bird are further complimented by that blue water. Great techs here as well.

Really nice. Bird is nice and sharp and the eye really stands out despite the black on black. Lovely water color. Like the comp you have chosen.

Amazingly well exposed for that black and white bird. Love the dark sea behind it and the look it is giving the camera.

Extremely crisp, Rob. Interesting angle and the waves make a neat bg.

A really stunning looking bird Rob and it stands out great from the water. Very nice work getting light in the eye and beautiful view of the wings and back. A fine image as posted. I'd be very happy with this in my files.
