Jasper Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area IN, USA. Nov. 2010. I made my annual trip to JP to observe sandhill crane migration. The moon was visible for good part of morning. Here is one of my many photo on moon and cranes. Only cropping and basic PP were done.

Settings: Nikon D80, 105mm Nikkor 80-200mm 2.8, f/4, 1/1000sec, ISO100

C&C are welcome and appreciated.

Gorgeous composition, Jim. The focus looks a bit soft to my eye. :toast:

Jim,

I like the concept here but I feel some adjustments could be made to improve the image overall. If you have more room on the left side I would add some more there to give the lead crane room to fly into. The image appears slightly over saturated and contrasy, so I would suggest reducing both of those. I also think some selctive sharpening would help because the cranes seem soft to my eye.

Terrific capture, Jim. But I agree with Mia's suggestions.

Nice one Jim although i think a little more room in front of the lead bird would help with the overall composition

cheers

Thanks for your feedbacks and suggestion.

The image is bit soft, since my camera and lens was pushed to their auto focusing limitation. In addition, I should have used small aperture and higher ISO.

In term of the composition, I knew it is kinda of unconventional. I wanted a diagonal symmetry, however, I do wish the birds would fly toward the moon instead of away. But, that is out of my control.
