Thanks everyone

Dennis, the background is the mountain on the other side of our valley, it's a few hundred metres away and my feeding station has an unobstructed view.

Geoff, wonderful detail - great pose, nice perch and very complimentary BG.
A tiny nit is that small bright area along the back of his head - easily fixed if you wished to.

Lovely pose, light, details, background and comp Geoffrey. That branch is very nice for a set up with all the texture and cones.

Beautiful! Nice capture. The one thing I'm iffy on is the perch. Looks spectacular at first glance, but then...pine cones, plus a bare branch...doesn't really go together, since the pine cones are an artificial enhancement.

Thanks everyone

Terry, this branch was cut off a nearby tree and grew naturally just as you see it here, the pine needles no doubt dropped off during the Autumn and the branch is bare until the new ones develop.

A very nice and clean image, Geoffrey. The contrasting light and dark areas about the head would certainly provide a challenge for exposure - similar to our chickadees here in North America.
