Sea Grass Carpet

Encinitas, California

A minus low tide at sunset brought me out to my local beach to shoot. I have found that the winter sunsets here are almost always more colorful and dramatic, but the color just didn't happen this night.

Great comp, and love the sea grass foreground. I agree about the winter sunsets here, I might see you around.

Wow Jimmy, this one is great. I really like the lines created by the foreground grasses. While the sky is not the most dramatic, it is still very effective for this scene.

Very trippy foreground, Jimmy. A real sense of motion to it.

Excellent foreground!
As Harley mentioned, it has as much a feeling of motion as a photograph can convey.
With so much great detail throughout, that sunset is good enough for me!
Congratulations on the EP, too! :toast:

What a neat ocean garden! I think if you'd gotten a more colorful sky the reflected colors would have taken away from the greenery, so I don't view it as a bad thing.

Hi Jimmy,
When I saw the thumbnail I said "What is this?" it is an eye-catching image, creative composition and very effective. The sky is very special.

Jimmy the Tide Master. Great use of the wide angle to emphasize the lines and motion of the sea grasses. I might even be tempted to crop the sky some to really emphasize the foreground. A great find and a wonderfully captured image.

That is some cool grass Jimmy. Great symmetry between sky and foreground.
Well done here.

Jimmy,

Too much low cloud blocking the high, Catching the sun peeking through the clouds just before it transits the horizon gives this image a base in reality. I know that may seem "odd" but if the sun was behind the horizon, you wouldn't ( in reality ) still had enough light to reveal your wonderful foreground.Been there many times waiting for the color and having it fizzle. However you still got that outstanding image.
