I didn't have to push much for this to get into a blue mood. I like it, so I went with it. Anyway, I thought the density and diversity of shapes here were interesting. I hope you enjoy it, and thank you for your thoughts. larger version included as well.

Thanks,
Chris

I usually do not open the larger version of posted photos but I am glad I did in this case! One of the best abstracts posted in quite some time IMO.

Sweeet! This is a very nice abstract, Chris. I am wondering how this would look with a just a tad more contrast? Not that this looks flat, quite the contrary. There are really interesting patterns and shapes in this, and the blue color balance works nicely.

Neat! i can get lost in this kind of stuff for a liong time. seems a tad blurry in spots, could be compression or maybe intentional, but not a big deal.

Very nice work, Chris. I thought one had to travel to Alberta for a nice ice abstract, but you've proven me wrong.

I think this works beautifully and I really like the blue mood, which doesn't look artificial or overworked at all. The composition is very nice and the shapes are fascinating. If I have any nits, I would love to see more sharpness in the corners, but that might have required focus stacking or a flawless lens.

Really like this a lot Chris. The details, pattern and the color all come together for an outstanding abstract. The variety of geometric shapes in the ice are quite unique. Exquisite work.

How did I miss this one?? Great abstract Chris, love it. Stunning. Don't know why but it looks like the just the bottom and maybe a tad of the LHS are softer than the rest of the image?? Doesn't matter, love this photo!!

Chris,

I'm getting really bad, I could have sworn I commented on this one. I know I've enjoyed viewing this one a number of times.

What a fantastic find; a mosaic of ice crystals and patterns.

I would agree with some others that it does seem soft along the edges, especially the bottom. But also, or the same thing, is the contrast is lower. It's almost like it was processed that way? I might even be tempted to crop in around the edges to eliminate it. And certainly this image deserves the best it can be because it's a great find and a wonderful image.

I guess I'm a little late, but since you mentioned your comment on my image that you had an ice abstract, I had to check it out.
This is awesome! I'm not seeing anything wrong with the DOF.
