Happy New Year

Well its been a couple of months since I last posted a moon. Last month I was rained out here in the SF Bay Area. So I was really looking forward to seeing the moon this month, and on top of that its another important moon in the Islamic world as tonights moon marks the beginning of the new year on the Islamic calendar. We have just crossed over into the year 1432.

This was the view literally just about 40 minutes ago.

Enjoy the view. C&C welcomed if you like.

I questioned the title for a moment. But I'm ignorant, so after reading your text, now I know, thanks. I look forward to the moon, and no one captures it quite like you do. Very elegant capture!

That's the thinnest one I remember. Do you ever get some earth glow on the dark side? That's neat too.

Happy New Year Youssef! I like how you captured that very thin moon and color.

Happy new year Youssef! Love the simplicity here and that must be the thinnest sliver of moon I've ever seen!

The tree and hills in the distance add some wonderful balance and mood to the image. The moon is so faint I imagine it was hard to spot at first!

Youssef,

That has to be the thinnest sliver of a moon I've ever scene! No doubt you were anticipating the emergence of this. I almost always think of you when the new moon appears. Happy New Year!

Such a tiny spec of moon showing, yet it really makes the shot. Very nice comp as well. Happy New Year too!
