It was so nice to see these colorful little birds in big groups in the gardens of the lodges where we stayed during our trip through the Pantanal, Brasil. They behave just like our House Sparrows on the feeding tables and on our eating table as well! :wavey:

D300,Nikkor70-300VR, 1/250, F9. Cropped to 60%.

PS. I made a mistake attaching the large version, it belongs to my Fauna post!

Nice photo. I like these birds and this is a very good shot of one. When I clicked on the larger version your shot of the jaguar comes up instead of the red capped. Thanks for sharing.

Pretty bird and I like the perch, but the larger version is a real different take on any bird. ha!

I use the same lens and struggle with detail when cropping over 20 - 30%. This image appears soft to my eye but I love the composition. This is a very striking bird.

Thanks for your comments, guys! I indeed made a mistake attaching the large version, but I have no clue if and how I can change this?

This is nice Ellen. I like the colors in the bird and the BG. Maybe a bit heavy toward the bottom with that huge perch branch. Quite a shock when I clicked to open larger version.

This bird is sure prettier than our sparrows, Ellen. Nice image but the bird is very small in it and the perch is very big. You could consider cropping more to provide us with a better look at look at it. The large version is shocking all right!! :toast:
