Bridal Veil Falls

I had the opportunity to spend part of mid-October in points east--West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio. The final excursion involved some time in the Cuyahoga Valley area. I presume folks in NE Ohio understand what a treasured resource they have; there is nothing remotely like this in the Chicago or Indianapolis areas.

One of the many captivating spots was Bridal Veil Falls, in the Bedford Reservation (Cleveland Metroparks). I spent several hours there one morning, until I lost the light completely.

I really like this perspective you shot from, and the movement in the water.
Nicely done!

I like this a lot Kerry. I've seen quite a few images from this location but have never seen one from this perspective. The conditions (rate of water flow and amount of leaves on the ground) obviously led you here but you had the vision to make the most of the situation. The low perspective and the leading lines work well here from all corners of the frame.

Well seen and well executed.

I agree the perspective makes an interesting image. The fallen leaves sets off the water very well.

Love the fallen leaves and the ribbon of water. This is a beautiful location. Watch your step on the shale, it's slippery! I hoped you walked downstream from here as there is some interesting areas.

You have a really nice capture. As others have said you have captured a little different perspective on the subject. Nicely done.

Thanks for the comments, everyone.

Jeff--yes, the shale is very slippery in spots...though I managed to avoid falling. I did get downstream from this spot a bit, but not as far as I would have liked. I found so many different tight locations within an area of about about 250 square feet that, by the time I'd exhausted most of what I wanted to do, the good light was gone. This ended up being a breezy blue sky day, much to my chagrin.

Wonderful perspective, Kerry. I'm missing scenes like this already and would gladly trade the cold and snow for fall.

This is quite nice, Kerry. I like the view and angle you chose to shoot this. All the color in the leaves looks really nice with the water and rock. Your ss and exposure both look nice on the water also. Nice work.

Nice perspective and color! I'm planning a trip to Cuyahoga in early May and WV in mid May - can't wait. Thanks for sharing.
