Fox of Mr.Lada

To work with animal in supreme condition brings always joy. The fox I photographed in Minnesota close to the Kettle river was a beautiful representative of its kind. Moreover the weather was standing by me, within twenty minutes it changed from sunny to heavy snow. Thanks to slowly falling snow flocks I managed to capture the fairy tale winter atmosphere. After return when I looked at the images this picture reminded me of a book by Mr. Lada, the acclaimed Czech illustrator.(Nikon D300+Nikkor 200-400mm/f4 lens, 1/400s at f8, ISO 250).
( taken in controlled conditions.)

Very rich colors. I like the snow flying and the bg. Good job of focusing with all the snow falling!

Nice winter feel, the flying snow adds some nice atmosphere. A little centered for me but I like the pose. Would also like to see a little more light around the eye and detail in the nose.

Nice low angle and I like the snow falling on the fox.

Beautiful mood with the snowy surroundings and the big flakes in the air. Detail is excellent. I would wish for a slight change in framing, moving the fox to our right and taking him out of the static position of exact center.

I echo the comments above on the central framing and perhaps a little more detail in the eye . A privilage to get so close and gain that mutual understanding with such a fine looking animal

Great shot Petr! Like others have said...move the fox a bit to the right and you have a real stunner.

The big flakes of snow create a Christmas Card perfect mood. The eye is a bit squinty, but that is so characteristic of them. Nice work!

Wanderful atmosphere, great details and colours. From compositional point of view I agree with decentering to the right.

Cheers, Luca
