Bosque Sunrise REPOST

Cold, cold, cold.

The crack of dawn.

Sandhill cranes just beginning to stir as the sunlight filters through the morning sky turning the ponds into iridescent blues, pinks, golds.

Comments and suggestions are welcome; that way I can return with new ideas and a hand warmer.

First things first. Get a hand warmer. I like the idea here where the birds are silhouetted against all that gold, but something bothers me. I'd try cropping the top down to where it just includes those grey weeds in the bg.

Interesting idea, Wayne. Here's a cropped version. I had been focusing so hard on the red glow in the sky on the right that I didn't think of cropping.

I like the mood here Carol and the varying poses of the birds. I prefer the repost - for me there was too much featureless black up top in the original.

Hi Carol: Another classic Bosque image. Nicely captured. I like the cropped version. I think the image needs some CCW rotation.

Yet again another variation. Sure hope this one is straight...

Nice shot, I like the original and the reposts. I think the original gives a greater sense of the habitat, while the reposts focus closer on the cranes. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Carol, Shots like this make getting up at the crack of dawn worthwhile. The 3rd version looks great, both the second and third look somewhat darker to my eye than the first and I think that is also an improvement. :toast:

Hi Carol :wavey: I know it's a bird gallery  But i'm the minority, i prefer the first version. perhaps a little crop on the top, but please leave those lovely gray layers of color in the B.G.
