Leaf in the Rain

Canon PowerShot S5IS

1/10
f/4.5
ISO 80
Focal length 23.8 mm
No flash
Handheld
Outside my front door
Normal PSE8 processing (can't remember exactly which things I did), removed background, extended canvas to form border

I have three more frosted leaf images, but I think the three I posted are enough. This one I saw outside the front door when I was standing in the doorway looking at the rain the other day. It was still raining, so it's kind of weird that there are no actual rain drops falling on it. Anyway, I think this will be my last of the leaf images for now, unless we get ice and I have a chance to photograph a leaf in ice.

All feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Barbara:
Beautiful colors in this leaf. Also like the sheen from the water and the black bg makes this pop. :toast:

Barbara, I like the screen on the leaf created by the rain. Nice border. I might also consider a slightly tighter crop. More to a square crop I think.

It's an unusual shot, well executed.

Interesting image Barbara. I don't see any technical problems. I like the sheen of the water and the droplet hanging from the stem. Also the black bg of course. (smile) Well done for my tastes.

Barbara: Really well done series and this is a worthy addition. I like the water as well. Even though its a little tricky - unless you have a filter adapter on your camera - you might want to experiment with a polarizer on shots like this. I used to just hand hold a CPL in front of my S2. The tough part was seeing the effect through the EVF. What I did was look at the subject through the filter by itself and determine the ideal orientation and then set it against the front element. Really nice work on this series. >=))>

I like the colors and the BG, but for me the sheen is abit too much. The comment about using a filter here is a good one. Like the series. Thanks for sharing.
