I love this shot, especially the gnarled old tree and the look of frustration on the lion cub who obviously lost this little battle.

great action shot. The colors, dof,, comp., action and the old tree all work together to make this a really good image.

I like the placement of the two on that great, sweeping tree trunk. The green of the BG trees complements the rest of the colors.

For Lions give me cubs playing anytime, they get into the most unusual positions.
We will be in Savute in early January, hopefully we will manage to find these.

On the critique side a slight upward movement of the forwad lokking cub would have been nice but as you know nothing is perfect.

I remember this scene very well, Vincent! Pity, the face of the other cub is not seen.

Hi Ajit! I actually like the fact that the face of the top cub is not visible; it adds to the confusion IMO. I do find it a pity that the bottom cub's eyes are not better visible (i.e. i wish it were looking up, not down). Am curious to see what you came home with from this encounter. :wavey:

Love the texture of the dead wood and the separation from the background, Vincent ! Agree about the eye contact/visibility of the faces. That would have made this image much stronger.
